H.E. Mr. Mosud Mannan ndc presented his Credentials to H.E. Mr. Hamid Karzai, Former President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on 22 April 2014 in Kabul.

Afghanistan is Bangladesh’s regional neighbour and a fellow member of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Bangladesh has cordial relations with the government of Afghanistan and Bangladeshi non-governmental organizations are (NGOs) active in Afghan reconstruction efforts.

Bangladesh exports jute, ceramics, and pharmaceutical products to Afghanistan. Both countries express interest to extend cooperation.

 

Agreements and Protocols signed between the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

 

  1. Cultural cooperation agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

(Signed on 15 March, 1975)

     2. Cultural, Educational and Scientific Exchange Programme between   the Government of the People’s Republic of     Bangladesh and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the years 2011-2014 in conformity with Cultural Agreement signed on 15 March, 1975.

 

Bangladesh Embassy in Tashkent is concurrently accredited to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
